Cushions, I love them…

I’m working with a number of clients at the moment who are updating their homes, they all discovering that cushions are their new best friend for helping transform a room!

cushions3They’re great because…

They are relatively low cost they quickly and very affordably can help you switch the mood and feel of a room from one season to the next and let’s not forget they are fantastic to simply help you to refresh a tired space. With so many great designs, textures, colours, sizes and prints available that with the right eye one can pull together a whole new look for your room remarkably easily..

The thing to remember when updating cushions and throws is that they can have a huge impact on space also. When working in a small or dark room, it’s best to use cushions that not only have a light enhancing finishes but also bring colour interest into the room – silk, polished cotton, bright or light colours.  In larger spaces, particularly with lighter coloured walls and ceilings: think texture on texture.

All the rooms I’m styling have a neutral base that include our Belgian linen sofas and chairs, I find the best way to add a personal touch to the room is to build a theme around cushions and throws.

If you are not sure how to update or change a room, look at your cushions!
