Sid Dickens Postage Stamp Memory Block
The Encore Collection
About this collection
Sid Dickens began his creative journey with the Memory Blocks 25 years ago. After working mostly with large sculptures, he found the perfect medium for his expression with 6” x 8” blocks. The Memory Block format has allowed Sid to create art that was both accessible and interactive for his audience.
Many tile designs have come and gone from the collection over the years. To honour the 25th Anniversary of Memory Blocks, Sid has chosen to resurrect six of his favourite designs. After being discontinued from the collection for years, Sid has re-imagined these older pieces to compliment his current aesthetic, while still celebrating the original design.
Available a limited time are these re-envisioned favourites celebrating 25 years of Memory Blocks.
About Sid Dickens Memory Blocks
Combining a painter’s eye and the experimenting skills of an alchemist, Sid Dickens manufactures full-of-character decorative tiles from his cozy Production Studio in downtown Vancouver – A utilitarian and serene studio-cum-production space where Dickens’ Memory Blocks are created at the pace of a few thousands a week. Quality is ensured by a fully integrated manufacturing process that guarantees complete control over the entire production line at every step, from moulding to pouring and hand-painting to finishing.
The traditional process of tile-making has changed very little since his first piece made back in 1994. The Memory Blocks are made by local artisans using the distinctive ingredient of porcelain-like plaster, ingeniously combined with time and patience.
Sid Dickens Postage Stamp Memory Block are is available from Finch & Lane Interiors Melbourne’s luxury furnishings and interiors company.
